How To Use Leverage To Multiply Your Income Tenfold

How to Use Leverage to Multiply Your Income Ten Fold

If you have not heard the term leverage already, let me explain briefly
what it is.

It is the power to act effectively using existing knowledge, money or
something else in a manner that results in a chain reaction of greater
success.  For example, using the same effort to find joint venture
partners and affiliates could end up in multiple sales rather than one
sale at a time.

You first need to determine the tasks that you need to concentrate on to
build your own business and determine what actions are needed to achieve
these tasks.

Then think of ways that you can incorporate leverage into these tasks to
make sure your actions are as effective as possible.

If you look at the reality of things, you are never going to get
anywhere very fast if you decide to take on every business task
yourself, in fact you are likely to get bogged down very fast, so the
way to leverage this is to outsource.

You can only manage so many actions a day - you must decide what you are
best at and outsource the rest.

Now to begin with, you may not be able to afford to pay other people to
do things for you. To deal with this, see if you can get your friends,
family or neighbors to help you, you can return the favor at a later
date when you are rolling in it!

If you don't know anyone who can help, then you are going to have to,
excuse the phrase, network your ass off!

You can do this by networking on forums, searching on the Internet for
people owning related websites, browsing social networking sites and
emailing your favorite marketers for advice. Get to know people, build
relationships with them; you never know what the outcome will be unless
you try.

The art of leverage can also be used to build your traffic, as mentioned
earlier finding joint ventures and affiliates are ways of getting more
traffic to your site with the same effort as going for one sale.
Continuing to contact people on a daily basis, offering your assistance,
support and friendship will build mutually satisfying relationships that
alone could help multiply your income ten-fold!

Remember you can leverage actions to get good results but leveraging
excuses isn't going to get you anywhere.

Post Launch Profits

You Know Your Info Product Could be the Next Hot Seller. Now Make Sure
It Is!

To start with you need to be prepared to put some effort in, as we all
know nothing comes for easy but following this system will make the ride
a whole lot smoother.

First you must have achievable goals and stick to them like the
proverbial glue. A general plan without goals is like wandering around a
maze in circles and its unlikely youll find your way out.

So plan out things like, how many sales you want to achieve in a
day/week/month and set daily actions in place to help you get there.
Never forget your goal is your end target and that you can achieve it.

One of the main pieces of advice I can give you is dont go for one sale
at a time.  By putting all the effort you use for one sale into finding
a joint venture will give you multiple sales for the same amount of work.

Spend the majority of your days trying to find joint venture partners
for your product instead of places you can put ads that attract one or
two sales.   The same principle applies when finding affiliates for your
product.  Yes you must have an affiliate program because if you dont
you are leaving a whole lot of cash on the table.

Although some additional marketing presence can be achieved by writing
articles, having a signature on your email or forum posts and creating
press releases so dont desert this route altogether. These particular
methods might even attract joint venture partners and relationships that
can be developed.

Another great thing to try is find a mentor.  It is one of the best
things you can do to help yourself, as they will guide you and give you
impartial advice in every type of business decision you have.  They can
fast track you to success without the steep learning curve.

Remember mentors have mentors too, so that you can get a whole wealth of
information filtered right through from the biggest Internet Gurus down
to new people coming onto the Internet fold,

Lastly a great that tip that will serve you well is treat your website
like a business not a hobby, as investments in things like decent sales
copy will have a massive impact on overall sales.  If you dont have the
kind of money available to buy this, you could offer your time,
services, and products as payment for it.

As with anything in life, if you dont try, you wont get what you want.
Never stop trying and that success will be within your grasp very soon.

Resource Box:

Every now and again an ebook will appear on your computer screen and
make it crystal clear what you need to do to be successful.  It's not
very often that they are free and contain this invaluable information
but you can find such an ebook here http://www.postlaunchprofits.com/special/?thankyou-page=7613

Business and You

Here is an article for women on how to start your business by being different, not by being a copycat.
Good advice for us females!

                        Women in Business

Business And You
by Debbie Solomon

What is the Hottest and Most Achieved Phenomenon going on in the
cyberworld today? YOU GOT IT!.....Starting your Own Business!

It is so much easier to start your own business these days. You do not
need $1,000's of dollars of overhead just to get started. Most people
these days only need a computer with internet access. There are more home
businesses starting everyday. The percentage rate is increasing faster
than Gas prices are rising. THAT IS BIG!!!

So, now you realize the concerns so many people are now encountering.
With Home businesses increasing so rapidly, how are YOU going to compete
with that?  That is Keyword...COMPETE! It is a dog eat dog world out
there and everyone is out to get a piece of that American Dream.

How can you beat the competition? Get to know them. Once you have your
business plan laid out, your product line in order...the next step is to
research your competition. See what they are
doing. Get ideas, write them down. A lot of businesses are giving away
FREEBIES. Everyone loves Freebies. Can't go wrong with that.  Look for
FREEBIES that NO other competitor has. Look for specials that will
enhance your product line. Be DIFFERENT! The main reason you research
other competitors is to do exactly the opposite.  Sound strange? The last
thing you want to do is to be like your competitors. Why are they going
to buy from you when someone else has the same thing?

A Word Of Warning.....Do NOT be a COPYCAT!!! You will notice a lot of
competitors with great graphics, great selling strategies and a great
site. This does NOT mean you will be able just copy what they do! I see
so much of that and it is sad. How will you be DIFFERENT if you do what
everyone else is doing? You can have a very common product, add some
twists to it and have one of the highest traffic generated sites for that
target market.

But where do you come up with these ideas and twists? It is called
surfing the NET! You will be amazed of what you can find out there. Here
are some example of being DIFFERENT:

**FREE E-Books is Great...but very common.  The Twist....Write Your OWN E-
Book. Share your experience.

**Give away FREE Vacations. There are tons of company's that are striving
to have businesses
market them on their site in exchange for FREE Vacations.  The Twist....
Look for a different kind of Vacation giveaway.  Not only an island
giveaway. Look for a unique vacation setting.

**Collect helpful Tools that are related to your product or service and
Give them away.
The Twist...Create a Members only site with these tools and offer FREE
Access.

**Write your own newsletter. The Twist...ADD Humor!

**Start your own Discussion Forum relating to your product line or
service. Offer help!
The Twist....Offer everyone in the forum a FREEBIE just for joining in on
the discussion!

Are you getting the idea? All these ideas are very common.  But none of
them are your own. Add those twists. It will keep you energized. It will
excite your prospects.

Owning a business online or offline can really be boring if you let it.
SO DON'T LET IT! Use your imagination.

Your business is YOURS! NO one else's. NO one can tell you what you can
and cannot do. Create your dreams!  Have the business you love and most
of all just ENJOY IT!

Like Books, Entrepenuers Are Always Judged By Their Covers

This interesting article is by Tim Knox, who is a successful marketer who even has his own radio show.

Like Books, Entrepreneurs Are Always Judged By Their Covers

by Tim Knox
Copyright © 2007

Raise your hand if you've heard these snippets of wisdom before: you should always dress for success; you only get one chance to make a first impression; and of course the ever-popular: you can't judge a book by its cover.

These old analogies came to mind recently when Megan Williams, North Alabama Director of Business Network International (BNI) was a guest on my radio show and shared the story of how she made the successful transition from worker bee to entrepreneur (you can hear the replay of the interview here).

Megan graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Civil Engineering and went to work for the construction arm of Chevron in her early twenties, until a few years later when an experience with a business coach lit the fire of entrepreneurship in her own furnace. Within a short time Megan, who is from the small town of Union Grove, was back in Alabama seeking the right business opportunity for her.

To make a long story short, Megan purchased the BNI franchise for North Alabama at the age of 28 and formally launched her career as an entrepreneur. BNI is a networking organization that serves to bring entrepreneurs from all industries together to network and share leads.

You would never suspect it by looking at her now, but there are a couple of things that you should know about Megan before we continue: Megan grew up a self-professed tomboy and started her business after years in the construction industry, so her standard manner of dress was khaki pants and button down shirts. She didn't mention steel-toed work boots, so I'll leave her footwear to your imagination.

By her own words, her hair was "long, straight, and air-dried" and she wasn't a big user of makeup. So when she started attending networking functions and chamber mixers to promote her business she noticed that she wasn't getting the warm response from other entrepreneurs that she expected.

Eventually, Megan was pulled aside by a well-meaning friend who said, "Girlfriend, if you're gonna be a success, you gotta dress for success."

OK, that actually sounded like Oprah in my head, but you get the point. With the help of her friend Megan went through an extreme makeover and began dressing and acting like a successful entrepreneur. She cut her hair, donned more professional attire, started conducting herself in the manner of a successful entrepreneur, and immediately saw the difference.

"It was like my credibility went up a thousand percent," Megan said. "Because I looked the part of the successful entrepreneur, people started treating me differently. They were all of a sudden talking to me and listening to me and taking an interest in what I had to say. It was amazing!"

Megan learned a great lesson that all entrepreneurs learn at one time or other: we live in a shallow world where people do judge books - and people - by their covers. You are judged by the clothes you wear, the way you talk, the people you hang around with, how you conduct yourself in public - even your handshake. That's just the way it is. Live with it or get out of business.

Now some of you may find it offensive that we live in such a judgmental world, but consider this: if you were to consult a brain surgeon and he came in wearing a dirty t-shirt, baggy jeans that dipped below the waist of his boxer shorts, and worn out flip flops, how much trust would you have that this person was capable of working on your brain? Probably not too much.

In business and in life people judge you everyday, just as you judge everyone else. And most of us base our opinion of others on our first impression of them. We make the decision to either like them or loath them within the first minute and you know as well as I do, my holier-than-thou peers, that we do not do business with people that we don't like. First impressions are hard to change, so make every effort to make every first impression a good one.

Just use your commonsense. Consider the industry you're in and dress and act accordingly. If the standard dress code in your industry is a suit, wear a suit. If your industry dictates khaki pants and work shirts, wear khaki pants and work shirts. If you show up at a job site wearing a suit you'll never hear the end of it.

And more than anything act like a professional. Wearing a thousand dollar suit and acting like an idiot just makes you a well-dressed idiot. Customers must have faith in you before they will even consider your product. Remember that the next you think about being rude to someone or making a public spectacle of yourself. You never know who's watching.

Why Small Ticket Sales Are Best

You gotta love Charlie Page, he tells it like it is without using hype. Enjoy his advice on why it is better to sell small ticket items than large ticket items.

------------------------------------------------------
Why Small Ticket Sales Are Best
© Charlie Page
http://www.RealWorldTactics.com
------------------------------------------------------

The true power of the Internet is the power to reach a
m***ive audience with your selling message.

But the Internet marketing gurus have tried to convince
us that the path to success is selling "big ticket"
items.

"Earn a $7000 commission" they say.

"Earn a six figure income with only one sale a week"
they cry.

But is selling a big ticket item really the best choice
for most of us?

Or is it better to sell a product that every visitor
can afford, then let time become your ally as loyal
customers buy again and again?

Ultimately, only you can decide what is right in your
situation.

The problem with big ticket items is this ... making
big ticket sales is hard - very hard indeed.

Let's look quickly at what it takes to successfully
market a big ticket product.

With a big ticket sale, you have to ...

* Establish credibility or play on your reputation.
* Have a killer (read: expensive) sales letter.
* Overcome the human tendency to be skeptical.
* Justify the price.
* Convince the reader you will honor a guarantee.
* Provide lots of proof that your product works.
* Have a merchant account that takes big payments.
* Offer a payment plan (usually).
* Ship a physical product (usually).
* And more.

Selling big ticket items is hard work, and best left to
marketers who can afford to wait a long time between
sales, and can afford expensive advertising as well.

For these reasons and more, many people choose to offer
lower ticket items as their primary focus - especially
when starting their online careers.

After all, how much easier is it to convince a reader
to spend $25 than to convince the same reader to spend
$497?

A lot easier.

Think of it this way - do YOU buy big ticket items
online as an impulse purchase?

Would you be likely to visit a site you had never seen
before and complete a transaction for $500 or $1000?

Not likely ... not very likely.

But you WOULD (and probably have) order a product for
$10 or $25 if you were convinced that it would help you
solve a problem now. And you would order that product
on the very first visit to the website that offered it.

After all, what would you have to lose? Even if the
product was horrible, and the merchant refused to give
you a refund, you would only be out a few dollars!

Anyone can afford that if they had to.

After all, when you get your credit card bill do you
look closely at the $20 charges or the ones that have
three digits or more ... the ones over $100?

*** Four Tips When Selling Small Ticket ***

If you are going to focus on selling smaller ticket
items at this point, here are four tips that will help
you.

===> Use small ticket items to create a big customer
     list.

One great thing about selling small dollar items is
that you can sell so many of them! When I first started
offering products at under ten dollars, I thought that
the same group of people would buy each product, and my
customer list would not grow.

Happily, I found just the opposite to be true. Not only
did I create a group of loyal buyers (thank you if you
are one of them) but also created more first-time
buyers in six months that in the previous 18 months.

And guess what? The new buyers have now become repeat
buyers too.

Now that is a win-win situation.

Once someone has a good experience with a low priced
item, they will get to know and trust you, which makes
them a very logical prospect for both repeat sales and
higher dollar sales.

Trust is the key. Low priced products that pack a big
value punch work wonders to build trust.

HOT TIP: Having a large list of buyers gives you real
marketing power when it comes time to recommend a new
product or set up a joint venture. Yet another benefit
of this simple approach.

===> Use small ticket items to build a powerful
     mailing list.

It's as true today as it was in 1999 - the money is in
the list. No doubt about it.

But *how* can you build a big list?

With low priced products of course!

Now this might sound like tip #1, but there is one
subtle (yet powerful) difference.

In this case, you are not trying to make any front end
money at all ... just using a low dollar product to
build a list.

Here's how you do it.

Find or create a product with a *true* value of about
$25 ... then sell it for a dollar if the person will
refer three friends.

-------------------------------------------------------
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: **Always** honor the resale
rights agreements on products you buy. Never sell a
product under the price suggested when you bought the
rights. There are lots of products you can use for
Tip 2 without violating resale rights and risking
your reputation.
-------------------------------------------------------

Now, you will notice that I said to *sell* the product
for a dollar, and might be wondering why. After all,
why bother collecting one dollar when everyone likes
free stuff?

The reason you want to sell the product, instead of
giving it away under a viral marketing idea, is that it
separates the freebie seekers from the real people who
might buy something.

Freebie seekers rarely ever buy. One dollar buyers
almost always will buy under the right circumstances.

===> Find small ticket items in resale rights
     packages and "source code" sales.

You might be wondering where to get enough products to
pull off a marketing strategy like this.

There are four excellent sources of material that you
can tap.

1. Resale rights packages that allow it.
2. Source code sales where you get an edit-able file
and have permission to change the information.
3. Articles that people use to market their product.
4. Sites that specialize in providing information
   "in the raw".

The point here is to find or create information rich
products that people want. No person wants to buy a
book - even for a dollar - that is little more than a
list of affiliate links.

Give great information and readers will reward you.
It's the one marketing strategy that works every time.

===> Establish your own "pricing brand".

This one is subtle, and rarely discussed, but very
effective.

The goal of the overall 'low priced' marketing tactic
is to provide a helpful product and establish yourself
with your customer so they will buy more. This is
business, after all.

One excellent way to do that is to offer an odd price,
and offer the same price on every special.

A long time ago, I settled on $9.97 as my price point.
Now, when my readers get a message with the subject of
"Another $9.97 special" they open the email quickly,
and act quickly too.

This is great because it saves us both time. I don't
have to write a long email "selling" the offer (since I
have proven these offers to be an excellent value
already) and my reader saves time too.

Pick an odd number and make it your own. Your readers
will remember you for it.

===> Are there downsides?

As with all things, there are some downsides to the low
cost approach. Here are the top two.

1. You won't build an affiliate army because you can't
pay commissions. But, candidly, building an army of
affiliates is much harder than the books say it is, and
it's time consuming too.

We have over 3000 affiliates now, and I outsell them 10
to 1 with my one little ezine. To be clear, it is *not*
their fault ... it's just that I think about my
business all the time and they are busy promoting lots
of products.

That's the real world.

2. You won't do joint ventures because there is not
enough profit to share. But how many people would take
your joint venture offer seriously anyway?

HINT: The *will* take your JV offer very seriously
indeed when you have a mailing list of over 1000
buyers, which can be done rather quickly with small
ticket sales.

Well, there you have it - the case for offering low-
cost, easy to buy products.

If you make low cost products a part of your marketing
mix, or if you make it your primary focus, you can look
forward to building a large list of buyers who will
reward your hard work with many more purchases (and
larger purchases too) as time goes by.

And THAT is a beautiful thing indeed!

Three Keys To Succeeding This Year

If you haven't found success on the internet yet this article by Charlie Page may inspire you to bigger and better things.

Three Keys to Succeeding This Year
(c) Charlie Page
http://www.RealWorldTactics.com
------------------------------------------------------

When it comes to succeeding online - whether that means
starting your own online business, earning money as an
affiliate, or something more, there is a world of
confusion.

Create a niche site, some say. But that's easier said
than done.

Publish an ezine, say others. But what would you have
to say?

Become a super affiliate we often hear. Again .. HOW?

In the years I've been online I have been blessed
indeed to be able to learn what I needed to know to
succeed.

Sometimes I learned from others examples. Sometimes I
learned from watching others mistakes. And sometimes I
learned from painful (and costly) trial and error.

Based on all of that, I'd like to share with you three
keys that I believe can help every one of you succeed
this year, and beyond.

---> 1. Know Yourself

The good thing about the Internet is that there are so
many different ways to make money.

And ... the bad thing about the Internet is that there
are so many different ways to make money. ;)

So what's a boy (or girl) to do?

Know yourself. Respond to what feels right, what sounds
right to you.

Remember what you learned as a youth -- if it sounds
too good to be true it probably is.

Nowhere is that more true that on the Internet where
scams and snake-oil salesmen abound.

So, how *specifically* does 'knowing yourself' help you
succeed online?

Here's how.

If you are losing sleep over the ability to pay your
bills and need some very fast money you may be much
better off getting a second job for a while than
'starting an online business'.

I know -- that's not the advice you are used to
hearing. But it's the advice I would give my daughter.

A bird in the hand still beats two in the bush, and
making any real money online when you are just starting
out is hard. Very hard.

Here's another example.

If you are staying up until the wee hours of the
morning viewing site after site that sound too good to
be true then you are headed for trouble.

Someone is about to pick your pocket.

It might be with the promise of huge commissions or of
doing all the work for you (why would they do that?)
but one way or the other they are going to take your
money. So be careful. Very careful.

---> 2. Get Off The Opportunity Treadmill

What does that mean? It means stop looking for the next
big thing and start looking for the next real thing.

Specifically, if a business you are considering does
not make sense to you but is asking you to 'trust them'
please don't.

Business online is just like business offline. Those
who stick with things succeed. Those who jump around
don't.

Nowhere is this more evident that in network marketing.
I've read, but not confirmed, that the average person
starting out in network marketing stays with the
program they choose for less than 90 days.

My friend, no one succeeds at anything new in less than
90 days ... especially if they are doing that business
part time.

So, forget the word 'opportunity' for a moment and
focus on the word business.

Is the business you are considering delivering a real
product? Does that product help people achieve
meaningful goals? Do you understand how the business
works? Could you explain the business to your best
friend and be comfortable?

If you answered yes to all of these questions you have
the beginning of a basis to go into a business.

If not, run.

---> 3. Focus

We touched on this above but it is *so* important that
I want to hover here for a moment more.

To succeed online (or offline for that matter) you will
have to focus on *one* thing at a time.

Focus your attention
Focus your resources
Focus your p***ion
Focus your time

If you learn to focus your resources in this way on
*one* thing and prove that it is for you (or that it is
not for you) you will succeed faster. Period.

How can you focus?

Think of something you want to accomplish. It might be
a business you are considering or a new site you want
to build or a way to advertise a product.

Now examine that from the outside in and then the
inside out and then examine it again.

Ask questions. Be a skeptic. Check out testimonials to
be sure they are real. Ask people who have succeeded
with the idea you are pursuing.

Now go further and Google something about the idea to
see what people are saying and to check the validity of
any sites you might be considering.

Once you *know* that you want to move ahead take action
and give it your all.

Only then can you know what will work for you!

One last word - the fact that something doesn't work
the first time does not mean that it will not work.

Nowhere is this more evident than in the world of
advertising where beginning advertisers wrongly think
they can run one ad and have it succeed.

Professional advertisers know that it takes testing -
and patience - to make an ad campaign work.

If your first attempt at something fails consider
analyzing why and trying again before moving on to
something else.

Use your focus to discover how to do better on the next
try.

The list of people who failed on their first try and
then went on to greatness is legion.

In the coming weeks I will be publishing a series of
VERY specific articles about how to succeed online.

If you have read any of my books, you will know that
these articles will contain no fluff and be very
actionable indeed.

If you have not read any of my books - there are 10 now
- you can see them here.

I hope you enjoy the articles. And I hope that this
year is your best year ever.

May it be so for us all.

Will 2007 Really Be Different For Your Online Business?

Here's another good and timely article from one of my favorite internet marketers. Following Willie's advice can help you focus on the most important projects this year. He talks about five areas of concern.

Will 2007 Really Be Different For Your Online Business?
Copyright 2006 by Willie Crawford

"Will 2007 really be different for your online business?"
That's a question that I asked myself, and that I had many
of my clients honestly evaluate at the end of 2006.

The answer has to be that unless you do something differently
in 2007 than you did in 2006, then 2007 is very likely to be
a repeat of 2006.

That reality should horrify many people!

For many "Internet marketers," which is the category that
most of my clients put themselves in, having 2007 be
drastically different means focusing on making five major
changes. Here they are:

1) Better Time Management

We all have only 24 hours in a day, yet some of us get 100
times  more done in those 24 hours than others. There are a
number of secrets to getting more done in less time. One of
those secrets is to actually calculate the value of your
time. Simply take your income goal and divide it by the number
of  hours that you are willing to invest to reach that goal.
That will give you a crude dollar figure to use for the
"value of your time."  It will also make it easier for you
to end "time-wasters" such as calls from tele-marketers.

Once you have a dollar value for your time, then you only
need to DO those things that you can't afford to get
someone else to do cheaper (provided it's something that
merits doing). For example, if you value your time at $100 per
hour, then you should not spend 2 hours designing a web graphic
that you can hire someone else to do for $25.  Although that
makes perfect sense,  many people  worth $1000 per hour spend
a lot of time  doing $5 per hour work.

Don't you fall into that trap.

To learn to properly value your time, I recommend getting,
reading, and implementing things taught in Dan Kennedy's
time management book.  It's called "No BS Time Management
For Entrepreneurs - The Ultimate No Holds Barred Kick Butt
Take NO Prisoners Guide To Time Productivity & Sanity.
It's a great book that you can order through online bookstores.

2) Focusing On Things That Provide The Best Return On Investment

This is closely related to number one, but it means that
you need to decide which of the hundreds of possible business
models and methodologies  you should be using as your business
model.

Everyday,  you'll be exposed to dozens of proven ways to grow
your business, your website and your income. You can only
realistically learn and implement a few of them!

Choose one or two methods,or tactics, to grow your business,
and then IGNORE the rest.  My friend Russell Brunson does
this brilliantly.  For example, when he looks at website
traffic generation, he works on just the things that does
best. He actually has staff members who each specialize
in different methods of traffic generation.  This is
something Russell recently shared with my subscribers on a
teleseminar.

Russell is a master at doing the things that provide him with
the best return-on-investment. He is also a master at
outsourcing the rest. You should check out this brilliant young
marketers  system!  You'll find it at:
http://DotComSecrets.com/willie/

3)  Stop Jumping From Project To Project

Inability to focus on one project, and see it through
to completion, "kills" more Internet marketers than anything
that I've observed. We all have dozens of brilliant idea,
and we don't know which one to focus on. We're afraid that
if we focus on one, we'll miss out on another.

By failing to select ONE of our ideas/projects and focusing
on implementing it, we end up not seeing anything through
to profitability. That tells you that the very simple
solution is to "just choose one."  It's a little more
complicated than that, in that you should choose the one
that means the most to you, and that fits in most with
your long-term objectives. However, you DO at some point
have to simply choose.

Don't worry about making the wrong choice. We live in a
universe with millions of choices, and any of them can
take you down a different path. Being too paralyzed by fear
to choose, is making the decision to make no changes.

If it helps, allow me to share with you several of my choices
that I made while transitioning to 2007.

One choice was to spend less time in the minutia, and to spend
more time on high value transactions. To do that I turned to a
friend who has earned 8-figures online in the past two years. I
figured that he could teach me a thing or two, so I'm learning
from him. I'm  so committed to the projects, that he's leading
me to, that I registered a domain just for that purpose...
http://8FiguresIn2007.com

The domain name above shows you why I focused on that choice.
I saw the level of potential and committed to making it a
reality.

A second choice that I made was to revamp my coaching and
mentoring program. I coach and mentor aspiring online marketers
primarily because I enjoy seeing struggling  individuals with
dreams make those dreams a reality.

Where I revamped my coaching program was to change my pricing
structure, and  the application process, so that only those
willing to put in  the necessary effort are  inducted into my
coaching program.  That way,  my new clients and I don't waste a
lot of time dealing with people whom  we shouldn't be dealing
with. This frees up more time for me to work with  very focused
people who have "a burning desire," a willingness to put in the
effort, and simply the right personality that enables us to work
together.

With coaching and mentoring in particular, it is a one-on-one
venture, and you should only work with those that are appropriate
for you to work with.  Doing otherwise merely cheats you, and
those that you should be working  with instead.

4)  Get A Manager/Mentor or Accountability Partner

Back in 2002, one of my "heroes" told me that I needed "a
manager." That  shocked me at first, but then he explained that,
left to our own devices, most of us will spend most of our time
doing things that aren't the highest and best use of our time.

He went on to explain that this is why top athletes, politician,
celebrities, and savvy executives have "managers."

Reflecting upon my career in the military, I once served as an
"executive office" to a commander. My job was to plan and
control his schedule. He would come to work and I'd tell him who
he was meeting with that day or that week... and  why. I even
told him when he had lunch appointments with family :-)

Not all of us are so in-demand that we need someone to help
decide what we  should be spending our time on. Some of us just
need an "accountability  partner"... someone that we can tell our
plans to and then ask them to hold us accountable for
accomplishing them.  This  would be a person that we give
permission to push us a little. We give them permission to tell
us when we're doing ourselves a disservice.

An accountability partner can be someone you meet at a seminar,
or even on an  online discussion forum. It can also be a formal
coach or mentor.  I serve as an accountability partner for
several dozen people. They  ALL have to go through an application
process (set up on my website) first.  You can see the process
at: http://WillieCrawford.com/mentoring.html

A coach, mentor, or accountability partner can help you to get
more done is many areas of your life. For example, many people
make resolutions this time of the year to exercise more. The
secret is to have a workout partner (an accountability partner)
that you jointly  make that commitment with. Then, on  those
mornings when you'd really rather sleep late, it's knowing that
you have someone at the track or gym waiting for you that will
get you motivated.

5) Form Strategic Partnerships and Joint Ventures

We all learned long ago that "no man is an Island unto himself."
If you're trying to do everything yourself, you're not going to
get very much done. In the online world "lone wolves" never
succeed massively ... that I've seen.

You need to partner and form joint ventures with others who
compliment your skills and interests. For example, if you are
great a starting projects, but never finish them, then you need
to partner with "a finisher"  (generally someone who pays close
attention to the  details.

Over the past 2 months I've interviewed DOZENS of  the top
online marketers. I often asked them how they got to where they
are. Our conversations also often  drifted to other online
marketers and those marketers' secrets to success.

Without exception, all of the top marketers that we discussed,
and that I've studied, did NOT get their all by themselves.
They had mentors, they formed alliances, and  they sometimes
had people who gave them a big break.

Going back to my career as a military office, the single biggest
identifiable factor that I saw that enabled an office to rise
from "Second Lieutenant" to "General"  was having a "sponsor."
This was someone at the top who took an interest in them
and guided them.

When I look at Internet marketing, I DO see a similar system.
When someone already near the top reaches out and guides you,
and introduces you to their influential friends, it does
increase your chances of moving up the ladder. This is only
common sense.

I'll close this article by sharing with you that the online
community set up to facilitate  many of the things outlined
above is called "The Internet Marketing Inner Circle."

Yes, there is such a creature.  You'll find it at:
http://TheInternetMarketingInnerCircle.com

Now back to the original question...

"Will 2007 Really Be Different For Your Online Business?"

It can't be different unless you do things differently.

Just food for though as we transition into a new year.

Some Do's and Don'ts For Getting Started With Internet Marketing

If you are a beginning internet marketer you may feel like you are swimming upstream. There is a lot to learn and so much confusion about this business. This article offers advice from an experienced and successful internet marketer.

Some Do's and Dont's For Getting Started With Affiliate Marketing
By Douglas Titchmarsh

Affiliate marketing has to be one of the quickest, and
easiest ways of making money onlin*e. As an affiliate
marketer, you don't need to create products, you will be
selling other peoples. You don't need to hold any
inventory, you don't need to accept payments, and you
don't need to build super sales pages, in fact almost all
of the work has been done for you. As an affiliate
marketer, all you need to do is bring customers to your
chosen affiliate program. That said, before you rush in and
become an affiliate marketer, here are some do's and
don'ts to save you wasting time, effort and money.

Firstly, listen up becuase this is important, and is
probably the number one reason most people give up on
affiliate marketing. A common mistake people make with
their website for affiliate marketing is using webpage to
promote loads of stuff at once, the worst examples are the
"banner Farms" where someone uses one page and adds
banners and links to all their affiliate programs with no
content. It won't bring visitors, and any who do arrive
will disappear almost immediately.

To put it another way, as simple as it is to get started,
don't join loads of companies at once and start promoting
everything. All you will do is waste time trying to promote
all of them at once, and not do a good job of promoting any
of them. The end result is invariably no sales at all. Pick
one or two products, preferably ones which you have used,
read or know something about, and start with those. Once
you have a succesful campaign you can add others, but one
at a time.

Here's some advice for picking an affiliate program to
market, find something you're interested in and research a
product in that niche you can sell as an affiliate. It will
be much easier for you to get excited, and show enthusiasm
for a product if you have an interest in it to start with.
Sure it's possible to promote anything, but in starting
off, it's easier for you to write about a subject you have
a passion for.

Here's why you need a passion for your product to sell it
well, you can use a website of your own to send potential
buyers to, and presell them with a review of the product,
not a sales page, a review. While your potential customer
is there, capture some details, an email address and name
at least, into an autoresponder series. By getting these
details, and building a list of customers interested in
this product, you have the possibility of sending them
emails containing your affiliate link so they see the
product more than once. It doesn't have to be difficult or
costly to setup either, there are plenty of FRE*E
autoresponders you can use (google for fre*e autoresponder)
and this is where your passion for your niche will help
again, as you can write a short course of emails to preload
into the autoresponder, so you can set it up and forget it.

But the real benefit of capturing the details of your
visitors, and sending them emails is that you get the
opportunit*y to sell to them again and again. If you find
other products in the future which relate to the original
one you were promoting, you can send one or two emails to
your list, knowing they are interested in this second,
third or whatever product and are more likely to bu*y.
We're not talking about badgering the life out of your
subscribers, as they will then unsubscribe, but helping
them find products which may be of help, or value to them
in their lives.

Affiliate marketing isn't rocket science, but learning a
few basics before you jump in can make a big difference.
Hopefully we have given you a basis to work from, so you
can get started in affiliate marketing for yourself, and
avoid some of the mistakes which could easily put you off.

Why You Aren't Making The Money You Want To On The Internet and What To Do About It!

Are you having difficulty making money on the internet? Do you have your finger in too many pies? This article may be the answer to your problems with online marketing.

Why You Aren't Making The Money You Want To On The Internet And What To Do About It!

BY Dan Lok

Copyright © 2006 Quick Turn Marketing International,
Ltd.

Many clients come to me with problems.

The most common problem I hear from people is they
aren't making the kind of money they want to make with
their Internet business. They don't know what the
problem is and they want me to help.

I'll tell you what the problem is. Most of these
people are what I like to call opportunit*y seekers.
These are people that have too many sites and don't
spend any time focusing on ONE business. They may have
20 or 30 websites, with each site only breaking even
or making a few hundred dollars every month.

Most opportunit*y seekers are not making the money they
want or achieving their financial goals. Why?

They are making a common mistake. They have too many
sites, too many interests. This prevents them from
focusing their efforts and creating the six figure
income they dream of.

Focus Is The Key To Long-Term Success

If you want to succeed on the Internet, you are much
better-off staying focused. That means starting off
with one site or idea and perfecting it before moving
on to the next Internet adventure. Far too many people
have a get rich quick mind-set. In fact, I'd say
almost all opportunit*y seekers have this mind-set.

They jump from one program to another hoping one of
them will lead to success.

opportunit*y seekers are always the first to jump on
the next big moneymaking bandwagon. It may be one
thing one month, another the
next month.

They may try to concentrate on affiliate marketing then
switch dramatically to e-book marketing the next.

Whatever seems to be working for others they jump into
with wild abandon, without considering their true
talents, abilities and interests.

These people are looking for some easy way to make
money. They think they can make money with Google
AdSense or just a web page, or even with a multilevel
marketing program. This is NOT how an entrepreneur
thinks! However, this is exactly how an opportunist
thinks.

They always are looking for shortcuts, and then wonder
why it isn't working.

It isn't working because you have no focus. You must
have focus. You must think like an entrepreneur. Focus
is one of the most vital aspects of your success. My
advice to these newbies is shut down 29 of your sites
and focus on one site, the one that best represents
your interests.

Optimize it. Work on refining it. Refine your sales
process and your back end on this single site and make
it successful BEFORE you move on to the next site.

Yes, I have many sites. But I am Dan Lok. You're not
there yet. Perfect your one site. THEN you can think
about moving on to other moneymaking ventures.

Horizontal Vs. Vertical Business

Many people have what I call a horizontal business. A
horizontal business has many sites in many different
niches, like hobby niches.

People who own horizontal businesses have 20 or more
separate business ventures. I recommend having a
vertical business instead. A vertical business is a
business that has depth and focus.

Having a vertical business means if you have a product
in a particular niche, like stock trading, focus on
selling products related to that and that only. Put
all your eggs in one basket and create a funnel
effect. This way you'll have one group of customers
and you can become a big fish in
a small pond.

You'll have all your eggs in one place yes. but you'll
become an expert egg layer and watch all your eggs
hatch with great success.

Make sense?

What is the problem with a horizontal business? You
aren't specialized.

It's almost impossible to make a six-figure income
with this kind of business because you don't spend
enough time on any ONE business.

When you have a vertical business, you have fine-tuned
your business so well competitors have a hard time
keeping up with you. People can't compete. You also
build a strong client base with satisfied customers.

Think Like An Entrepreneur

So, the biggest problem people have is they are
opportunit*y seekers.

The key is thinking like a true Internet entrepreneur.
Don't jump on the trend bandwagon. Don't ask what the
shortcuts are. An entrepreneur has a long-term vision.
You have to have a one-year, five year and ten year
vision. Find out what you want your business to look
like in the long-term.

Ask yourself, What do I want to accomplish ultimately?
Then decide whether your activities fit with your
goals. Stop jumping from one program to another. Focus
on one program, one site, and one great idea. This is
what you have to do if you want to make six figures.
It has nothing to do with your knowledge, skill set
experience etc. It has to do more with your focus.

Sit down. Think about it.

Stop jumping from one program to another and stop
getting sucked into false moneymaking schemes. Find
out what your goals are, what you want to accomplish.

This is a far superior approach. Yes, it takes a lot
of energy. But its worth it. In the long-term it's
much less tiring than diversifying your business.

Once you are an expert in your industry or niche, THEN
you can think about diversifying your business.

Resell Rights..Resale Rights

Do the various types of resell rights confuse you? What is the difference between resell rights and resale rights? They both refer to rights to sell a product you purchase. You can keep all the profits from sales. Your customers cannot resell the product, they can only use it themselves.

Master resell rights or resale rights refer to the product you purchase as well. You can sell the product and keep all the profits. Your customers get resell or resale rights which means they can sell the product, but their customers can only use the product themselves.

Full master resell or resale rights refers to the product you purchase as well. In this case you can sell the product, keep all the profits, your customer can sell the rights and keep all the profits and their customers can also sell the rights and keep all the profits on down the line from seller to purchaser.

You must read the license for the product to make certain of what type of rights are included. Otherwise you could get in legal difficulties for giving resell or resale rights to a customer when that is forbidden by the original owner. If you do not receive a license with your product, contact the original owner for clarification of what you can do with the product.

Acceptable Affiliate Practices

This article by Dr. Mani is right on the spot about affiliate marketers and how they operate their business. He gives some rules we can follow to make a better impression on our customers.

Over the last decade, Affiliate Marketing has become a specialized field of Internet marketing, spawning off multiple sub-industries, generating mega-profitable businesses and creating heroes and role models called 'SUPER affiliates'.

More recently, as the industry matures, definitive courses covering the various tactical and strategic elements of affiliate marketing were launched that shaped the way affiliates work online. Best practices and power-tactics for raising an affiliate's performance, maximizing profits, adding value to clients and optimizing business processes have radically altered the way affiliate marketing is practiced today.

While tactics and strategy no doubt have their value, what has been ignored until now is a definitive set of ethics or 'acceptable behavior' on the part of affiliate marketers. This is an effort to piece together a document that would serve as an unofficial 'rule book' or a set of guidelines 'good' affiliates would adhere to.

The concept behind 'Acceptable Affiliate Practices' is simple: define standards that will benefit, enhance value and boost bottomline profit to the three players in an affiliate marketing transaction - the vendor, the buyer and the affiliate.

Here are 5 rules I use to guide my thinking about affiliate promotions to an audience of interested prospects:

1. Respect the chain - both upstream and down. Vendors create products or services, process orders and handle customer support. Buyers consume what they purchase - and benefit from it. Affiliates are in the middle, playing matchmaker to bring buyer and seller together. Respect for the chain means striving for win-win deals that benefit everyone - and harm no one. A quick 'rule of thumb' to decide whether or not to do something is to ask oneself: "Will it harm any part of the chain?"

2. Review with empathy - It's simple. Put yourself in your buyer's position. Review the product or service you are promoting as an affiliate just the way you would like it to be done for you. Focus on benefits and risks, as perceived by your buyer. Don't 'sell' in a way you would not like to be sold to.

3. Research your recommendations - The best practice would be to personally buy (or ask to review) the thing you are recommending. Put it through the paces, see how effectively it works. Only if it passes your rigorous testing, promote it to your prospects. If this is not practical, research as much as possible about the item, the vendor, the industry, the market, and use your best judgement about the value it will provide in your affiliate recommendation - making it explicit and clear that you have not personally tested it out.

4. Add value - Focus on bringing more value to the transaction. Your buyer should ideally feel better about ordering through your recommendation than by doing it directly from the vendor. You could do this by saving your prospect time, effort or money in arriving at a buying decision.

5. Offer bonuses - within reason. Adding extra bonuses to a product, converting it into a 'package' is an excellent, effective affiliate marketing tactic. It is also often abused. Strive to enhance your buyer's experience by carefully selecting the bonuses you throw in. Targeting them to your buyer's needs is more important than the number, price or size of your bonus pack.

There are many other 'rules' that would likely fit into this document, as we refine and enhance the concept. Maybe there is even a role for an informal industry-specific agency that would expand on the AAP guidelines, making them increasingly better and more effective.

Would you like to add or modify these rules? Post to your blog and send me a link to drmani (at) ezinemarketingcenter (dot) com and I'll add it here. I will also tag all posts related to this idea with the tag "affiliateacceptablepractices" on del.icio.us

Online Predictions For 2007

Are you curious about what might happen in the world of internet marketing over the next year? Jim Edwards has some plausible predictions. Perhaps you can get some ideas about what you should focus on for the upcoming year.

Around this time of year I always like to make a few
predictions about what the upcoming year holds in store for
those of us who use the Internet with any regularity.

By the way, I'd like to point out that I was screaming from
the rooftops about online video 3 years ago and look where
we are now!

So, let's peer into my crystal ball, delve into the future,
and take heed of the following signs of things to come.

* Isolation and Info-Overload *
Anyone who does business online, either full or part time,
knows the avalanche of information has not abated.

If anything, the "info-overload" syndrome worsened in 2006
as we were pelted with new offers, new opportunities, and
new things to do online.

Though this trend will only increase in 2007, all is not
lost.

Because of these feelings of isolation and overload, new
opportunities will arise to lessen, eliminate and, in some
cases, even fix these problems.

These solutions will manifest themselves in many ways
online.

* "Mash-Ups" and "Widgets" Will Rule *
"Mash-Ups" are sites that combine data from multiple sites
or databases to give the user the benefit of a unique
perspective not available on any one individual site.

For example, Maps.Google.com not only enables you to plot
destinations, but find specific locations, stores and points
of interest.

Search "hardware store Williamsburg VA" and Google returns a
list of local hardware stores and plots them for you on the
map.

"Widgets" take an opposite approach.

Widgets are small software applications that use only a part
of the massive amounts of data available from a specific
site or sites.

An example is the little weather widgets available from many
TV stations or even Weather.com that keep you updated.

Instead of logging on to a website to wade through all the
ads and extraneous information you don't want, a widget
automatically delivers exactly what you need.

Both mash-ups and widgets save incredible amounts of time
and help to greatly reduce info-overload.

* Social Networking Sites *
Feelings of isolation create the need for social networking
sites.

Don't believe me?

Look at the explosive growth of MySpace.com, eHarmony.com,
Match.com and other sites where people go to meet, greet,
and get a sense of community and belonging.

As the software and server power to create these sites gets
cheaper and more powerful, expect to see social networking
sites with very specialized "niche" audiences to appear and
thrive.

* Video, Video, Video *
It's hot right now and will only get hotter in 2007.

With Google forking out over a billion dollars for
YouTube.com, the video train has left the station.

However, one trend to watch for is anything that will bridge
the gap between online video and people's TV sets.

Despite the popularity of online video, people still enjoy
sitting in the Lazy-Boy with a cold one flipping channels.

I predict TiVo will come out of the gate with an easy way
for online video content providers to broadcast to a more
traditional audience.

They operate the equipment, have the audience, and it just
makes sense that TiVo will take the distribution of online
videos to the next level.

Are You A Smart Marketer?

Are you a smart marketer when it comes to promoting your product or do you flounder around not setting specific goals? Charlie Page has some suggestions for you on how to be successful in this field.

Are You a S.M.A.R.T. Marketer?
(c) 2006 Charlie Page
http://www.RealWorldTactics.com
------------------------------------------------------

It seems that everyone wants to make money online. And why not - working online *can* be one of the most rewarding things a person can do, filled with lots of time off, good income and the satisfaction of a job well done.

OR ... it can be a nightmare. Filled with information overload, confusion, spending too much on products that deliver too little and more. Getting started online for most people is tough to say the least.

So, how you can you from hype to hope? How you can go from where you are now (no matter how good or bad that is) to the place you want to be?

You get S.M.A.R.T.

If you have spent much time in self-help literature or sales training, you've probably heard of setting SMART goals.

Here's the way I learned it.

To be effective, a goal must be ...

Specific Measurable Attainable Realistic Timely

And SMART goals really do work best.

So ... how can we apply this to marketing online? Let's take a look together.

--------------------------------------------------
NOTE: This is not only for full-time marketers. If you want to sell things online, either your own product, an opportunity, or earn as an affiliate, you ARE an online
marketer, and this does apply to you.
--------------------------------------------------

>>> SPECIFIC

Is your marketing specific? By specific I mean this -does the thing you are promoting solve a *specific* problem.

In today's competitive Internet climate, selling general benefits won't make the grade. To get people to take action today you've got to be specific. The more specific the better.

For example, if your product helps people save time, tell them *how* it will do that. If it helps them make money, tell them *how*.

The more specific, the better.

After all, the job of your website is to convert already interested people into customers, and not to take people who are wholly uninterested and get them to buy.

>>> MEASURABLE

Ah, testing and tracking. It's been the mantra of top marketers for a long time. Ever wonder why?

Because without *measuring* the results of what you do you simply can not KNOW what works and what doesn't.

Some people harbor a fantasy that everything top marketers does works. Nothing could be further from the truth.

But effective marketers can quickly shut down a failing promotion, and quickly ramp up a successful one, because they are *measuring* results along the way.

Want to begin making real use of tracking tools without becoming a 'tracking nut'? Start by using an ad tracker.

Whether you use a service like AdMinder or a script running on your web server like ProAnalyzer, or (like me) the tracker that comes with your shopping cart, start using tracking links to measure response.

Oh, and they're not just for ads. You can measure which buy link gets more sales on your sales page. You can measure which email message in your follow up series sells the most.

The possibilities are almost endless.

>>> ATTAINABLE

Forgive the rant, but this is my pet peeve. If you find a site that says you are going to get rich overnight or that they are going to do all the work for you or that people routinely go from rags to riches with their
system please listen carefully.

THEY ARE TELLING YOU A LIE!

Just ask the thousands of people who bought into the latest pyramid schemes only to see their 'investment' disappear before their eyes.

The fact is, the Internet is the *best* place to have a business. No offline business can offer the level of income combined with time freedom (and no employees!) that the Internet offers.

But success online takes time. It takes *understanding* the process. It takes learning the language. It takes trial and (sorry to say it) error.

Are there ways to shorten the learning curve and get successful faster? You bet.

Is there a way to (and I know you've heard this one before) SKIP the learning curve, follow a series of steps, and make all the money you want.

Nope.

Is your marketing attainable? By that I mean, are your marketing goals attainable?

Almost any level of income you can imagine can happen online IF you take the time and effort to master an area and let that area of expertise carry you to heights you only previously imagined.

>>> REALISTIC

This sounds like the last point, but it's not. By 'realistic' I mean this - are you expecting too much or too little from your marketing?

Is your marketing mindset realistic?

Here's where I see this happen. People buy a membership to the Directory of Ezines, and then buy an ad, and then don't make much money, and then think the ad failed.

Just yesterday a guy wrote to say that he ran an ad (cost him $40) and he got 300 visitors and was disappointed.

Is his marketing mindset realistic?

Heck no. I could retire with that kind of return on investment.

At 300 visitors he *should* have made three sales or more. Unless he's selling packs of gum, he should have been wildly profitable.

Let's look deeper. At 300 visitors, if his marketing was good, he would have had at least three sales and about 100 people join his mailing list.

If his product sold for $50, that's a $150 return on $40 PLUS 100 opt-in prospects, many of whom would eventually buy.

Not bad.

But he thought he should have made $1000 on the $40 and was upset.

Not realistic. Not very realistic at all.

The key to having a realistic marketing mindset is to know the numbers. How well should a website convert? Start with 1% and build from there.

It's all a matter of testing and tracking. Only then can your mindset be truly realistic.

>>> TIMELY

They say timing is everything, and so it is with marketing online.

Now timing can mean many things, so let me focus here on two areas.

1. How Often You Communicate With Your Mailing List.

If you have a mailing list (and you really must) you should let them hear from you no less than twice a week. I know that some people say that's too much, and some say it's too little, but I think it's just right.

Anything less and they forget you. Anything more and you risk running them off.

Now, if you have told your list up front that they will get emails every day or five times a week, then do that.

Remember, this is just my opinion folks. But it's based on about seven years of testing and tracking.

Bottom line? Find what works for you. Better to do too much and back off than become the forgotten man or woman.

2. The Time Of The Month That Your Marketing Happens.

Ah, one of my favorite 'tricks of the trade', yours free.

I like to plan my major marketing to hit between the 15th and 19th of the month.

Why?

Because that's when people have the most *disposable* income. And everything we sell online - whether we think so or not - is bought with disposable income.

No on in their right mind is not paying the mortgage in order to buy your book. They are skipping dinner out (a discretionary purchase) in order to buy from you.

So, is your marketing S.M.A.R.T.? It can be if you take what you read here today and do something about it.

I hope that's the choice you make. ;)

Starting Your Own Home Business

Are you trying to start your own home business? This article gives you some tips on how to achieve this.

Starting Your Own Home Business!
by Terri Seymour

Ok, so you have researched the facts, weighed the pros and cons
and have finally decided that a home business is right for you.
But now you need to figure out what type of business you want
and how to proceed with starting this business.

There are many types of home businesses but not all of them are
right for all people.  You need to ask yourself these questions:
Do I want to start my own business from scratch?  Do I just
want to join an MLM and sell for someone else?  Do I want to
sell physical products or digital products?  Do I want to do all
the work online or offline too? Do I want help with my business
or do I want to go solo?  Do I just want to become an affiliate
and sell other people's online products?

MLM/Direct Sales - The company you sell for is in control of how
you run your business.  You are paid a commission for sales and
usually have to recruit a downline.

Distributorship - You are in control of your own business.  You
keep all profits and do not need to recruit a downline.

Digital Products - Selling digital products such as ebooks is
done online and there is no need for an inventory, shipping or
worrying about damaged goods.

Affiliate Programs - many people make a good online income just
by selling other people's products.

Service Provider - This would include such things as virtual
assistant, party planner, pet sitter, etc.  These types of
businesses can be combined to form one very successful business.
Such as applying for a distributorship and then also offering
ebooks on your online store site.

Once you have chosen your business and gotten all your permits,
tax numbers, etc, you will need to start marketing your new
business.  There are countless ways to do this online and
offline.

Offline Marketing

Offline marketing would include: business cards, flyers,
attending your community events and networking, attending expos,
craft fairs, trade shows, postcards, phone calls, newsletter
advertising, door hangers, radio, fundraisers, school functions,
catalog distribution, mailing lists, home parties, car magnets,
brochures, seminars, yellow pages and more.  Use your creativity
to come up with your own unique marketing ideas.

Online Marketing  Marketing strategies online include: link
exchanges, search engines, autoresponders, online auctions,
email press release, online chats/seminars, ebooks, blogging,
tutorials, ad swapping, ezine advertising, article marketing and
much more!

To market your home business takes a lot of work, consistency,
time and commitment.  Handing out a couple business cards and
throwing up a website will not suffice.  Work as many as these
marketing ideas as you can.  Find out which ones really work for
you and then expand on them. Then try more!

I want to make sure you understand that you cannot treat your
business as a hobby.  If you want a successful business with a
full time income, you have to work your business full time.  If
you find one of these programs that claim you can make thousands
a week for 5 minutes of work, (that actually work) please let me
know.  In the meantime, start using some of these ideas and get
your business name out there!

How I Put 5000 Members On My List Since Last Summer

I thought this was a good article for beginning internet marketers like myself who need tips on how to get an email list.

How I Put 5000 Members On My List(s) Since Last Summer
by Michael Worthington
copyright2006

Today, one of my subscribers and customers
was telling me how he was drowning in
information overload, and just couldn't seem to
get anywhere with his business.

The following article is basically what I sent him
in return.

The first thing you need to do is build relationships
with other marketers--as many as you possibly can.

Next, either research and write a short report on
some "niche" subject and offer it with Private
Label rights along with a keyword list to them
as a free download for their subscribers.

Or, you can take a Private Label Rights product,
rework it, change the title, add some content,
add your name as the author, and offer that instead.

I did this with a report on improving the circulation
in the lower body, and have added over 2000
subscribers to one of my lists since last summer.

I have problems with circulation so while I was
researching remedies, I thought other people might
have the same problem, so I put all my research in
a report and gave it away with Private Label Rights.

Another thing I did was put together a Private
membership site and let some other marketers
give away free one-year memberships to their
subscribers.

Altogether, this has added over 5000 subscribers
and members to my lists and it's virtually "Hands Off"!

I realize these aren't gigantic numbers like some
of the "gurus" throw around, but did I mention
all this was practically automatic? Like in "Do
the work one time and keep on getting subscribers"?

Now, granted, it's not easy to do, but it is
just that simple!

Yes, it will take some work, but if you focus on
one thing at a time, I guarantee you'll be getting
quality subscribers by the dozens.

The wonderful thing about this is...you can keep
on repeating the process, over and over until you
run out of marketers to contact! ;-)

There's no limit to the size of the list you can
build by doing this one simple process over
and over again with different people.

This truly is the "Million Dollar Secret".

What you do with it is strictly up to you!

How To Evaluate MLM Businesses

As I was checking into an MLM program I was strongly considering joining, I came upon this article that cautioned me to be careful and to evaluate the program before jumping in. I am sharing the article with you so you can evaluate all those MLM programs on the web before joining and possibly losing your money. It gives good advice on what to look for in the sales pitches.

"How to Evaluate Multi-Level Marketing Businesses"
By Debbie Schwarm

With the increasing interest in home businesses, and the internet explosion in full swing, we are constantly being tempted to participate in many of the multi-level marketing plans available. It is important to evaluate closely the opportunities presented, to determine the legality and soundness of a business. Consider what participating in an illegitimate business scheme could do to your personal and business reputation, and try to ensure that you have made a carefully considered decision.

Here are some guidelines to consider when selecting a multi-level or network marketing business:

1. The business must have a product to sell
Programs where no actual product is being sold cannot survive without building a down-line. This is because there is no product volume to sustain the business. Once the business gets to a certain size, and nobody else is getting in, the "pyramid" collapses. The business must keep on signing more people to survive.

2. The business should focus on the sale of a product and not recruitment
Sometimes the program does have an apparent product, but the emphasis is still on recruitment. Without recruitment the product would lose its value. This is because to sell more units you have to find more "people." You cannot sell more of the product to the same people.

3. The product that is being offered must be legitimate and useful
Try to evaluate the product that the program is offering. Would you buy this product if it was on sale in a retail store? Does this product hold any obvious benefits for its buyers and users? Is the product appropriately priced as compared to the costs it involves, and the benefits it is promising? If you answer is no to most if these questions then perhaps the business opportunity is not effective.

4. The business doesn't promote get rich quick promises
Any program that promises to make you rich in a quick and easy way is lying or is not based on the right foundation. The simple truth is that no one gets rich quickly and easily the right way. One must work hard to make legitimate money.

What are some examples of legitimate MLM, network marketing, direct sales businesses? You have probably heard of many of them: Tupperware, Discovery Toys, Pampered Chef, Creative Memories, 1800PartyShop, Nikken, Avon, Mary Kay. The foundation of their business is the sale of their product, not unlike a traditional brick and mortar store, and the products that they offer are good and useful. You can make money by selling their products, but they would not promise you to get rich easily and quickly.

Most illegitimate offers have the following factors in common:
-Promise you to get rich quick.
-Require continual recruiting to succeed.
-Recruiting process appears evasive.
-A large amount of money is required up front.
-Insist that your success lies in joining now versus later.
-Your "gut" doesn't feel right about them.

If you've put the above items to the test and are still unsure, here are some resources for reviewing business legitimacy.

Discussion groups on Network Marketing: - is_it_a_scam@egroups.com
- makingtherun@egroups.com
- networkingmarketingtip@egroups.com
- mtaustralia@egroups.com

You can also find good information by going to one of the major search engines, and doing a search on the actual business name you are considering.

It is important to do a thorough investigation of any multi-level marketing program when you are considering it seriously. There are lots of opportunities available: many are legitimate; many are not. Use the resources listed here to make a sound decision, carefully considering the business presented. If you are careful in the initial phase of business selection, you are bound to reap the benefits later.

Will You Be In This Business Prospering Five Years From Now or Will You Be Another Marketer Who Dried Up and Blew Away?

This article by Marlon Sanders is an excellent one on longevity in the internet marketing business. Marlon is a well-known successful internet marketer so you need to think about his words of wisdom on the subject.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
B. "Will YOU Be In This Business Prospering Five Years
From Now Or Will You Be Another Marketer Who Dried Up And
Blew Away?"

By Marlon Sanders

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Pretend it's five years from now.

Are you still in the marketing game? Are you in the game
or out of the game? Are you still at your job or not at
your job? Are you burnt out or not burnt out?

Or have you moved on to turning a buck via real estate,
vending machines or whatever the hot opportunity of the
month flavor is?

What's the difference between those who were doing well
online 5 years ago but today are "out of the game." They
are doing somethin' else for a living.

What's the difference?

I want to point out the 3 "longevity factors" that make a
difference.

LONGEVITY FACTOR ONE: The Time For Dollars Trap

You've heard the saying "All that glitters isn't gold."
Nothing could be more true online.

There are a plethora of gimmicks on the web. You get a new
one almost every day on the Internet. The people I
personally know who are still in the game have 1 thing in
common -- A LIST.

You either have a business that is list-based or
transaction-based. An list-based business builds up value
as your list grows. A transaction business means five
years from now you're still hustling to turn that seo buck
or that ppc buck.

If you have a list, and you cultivate a relationship, five
years from now, you have a source of income. You are
better off than you were 5 years before. Without a list, 5
years from now, you're still "turning transactions" to
bank some coin.

I said it years ago in Amazing Formula. "The money is in
the list."

If you're in a transaction business, that means each day
you're trading your time for dollars or money. To make
more transactions, you gotta spend time.

The only way to escape that is to have a list and to have
products.

That way, you escape the trap of having to trade YOUR time
for dollars. The products sold to your list do it for you.

LONGEVITY FACTOR TWO: The Rainbow Trap

You've heard the expression "chasing the pot of gold at
the end of the rainbow." That's pretty much what we all
do.

But if you're always chasing and never doing, you've
fallen into the trap. The fortune is in selling the
tickets to go see the rainbow. That's how the dude at the
end of the rainbow got his pot of gold -- HE SOLD
SOMETHIN!

My friend Jonathan Mizel lives in Maui, Hawaii. And when
you're in Maui, there are some gorgeous rainbows. But the
price of seein' rainbows isn't cheap!

No one makes any money until someone sells somethin' to
someone and someone else buys it. I talking at the end of
the day. For example, there'd be no adsense income if
someone else wasn't buyin' those clicks.

Funny thing is, even the people who say you can bank some
currency without sellin' something have GOT something to
sell to YOU to show you how to bank money without selling!

How's THAT for interesting logic!

The people who are in the game and stay in the game have
their own exclusive product or service to sell most of the
time.

Ask Google. Ask Bill Gates. Ask Yahoo.

You gotta have a product or service to sell. You gotta
sell it. And in most cases, you need to have an exclusive
on it.

LONGEVITY FACTOR THREE: The Quick Start Trap

People wanna get off to a quick start.

So the desire is to take shortcuts. I won't create my own
product. I'll just buy this super duper reprint rights
package to 1,000,000 products or whatever. (Not that
reprint right packages are bad...it's all about the
person's mindset buying them>)

Or this method doesn't require a product, a sales letter
or anything else. You just watch the video and click the
buttons on the software. And money comes in.

What a deal, eh?

Truth is, at the end of the day, no one is makin' any
money until someone sells and someone buys.

Simplify your life and skip the quick fix pitches. Stop
searching for that pot of gold at the end of the rainbox.

Start SELLING rainbows on cards, tickets to SEE the
rainbow, rainbow concerts, rainbow hats, ebook on best
places to find rainbows. Stories of people who FOUND the
pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Years ago I said "the money is in the list." Today, I add
to that.

The money is in the selling.

The money is in the selling.

The money is in the selling.

Don't believe me? Look at all the people SELLING YOU a way
to stack some paper without you having to sell anything to
anyone else.

Five years from now, will you be in business or won't you?

1. Will you have your own list?

2. Will you have your own exclusive products?

3. Will you still be hunting the quick fix or will you
have laid a foundation for the future?

One of the things I've tried to do since day 1 is to boil
out the fluff and turn the complex into the simple and
give you simple action steps to do it.

Bottom line: Marketing is about finding demand, that is
finding markets for products and services and filling the
demand for a profit.

You wanna be in business 5 years from now? You wanna be
sittin' by the beach or being able to enjoy freedom?

Then discover the secrets of finding markets and
fulfilling wants at a profit.

Folks, at the end of the day, ain't nobody makin' no money
'till somebody sells somethin' to somebody. And if you
wanna buy yourself the FREEDOM you want, you gotta have
products that earn bux for you, so you don't gotta earn
'em yourself by tradin' time for dollars.

How's that for an esoteric secret of success?

I hope this article gave you ideas and is useful to you.

You Really Should Be Upset

Willie Crawford has a straight-forward way of explaining the facts of internet marketing. Here is another excellent article by him.

You Really SHOULD Be Upset
Copyright 2006 by Willie Crawford

There are people spreading inaccurate information and
misleading you in Internet marketing. Some of them do
it unintentionally - they just repeat things they've
heard.  Others do it intentionally - they take advantage
of your greed, or they produce products full of theory.
Either way, you get the same results.  You spend years
trying to market things without any real success.

I'd like to ask you to do me a favor today!  Look at what
you're selling, and how you're selling it. Then ask
yourself, "Is this working?"  If it's not, then you need
to do something differently.

Most likely, you need to change your product mix. If
you're offering your market a product, and they're not
buying it, it's because they don't want it (at least
not the way that you've packaged it).  No matter how good
you think that the product is, you need to drop it and find
out what your market WANTS.  The real experts will tell
you, "Sell them what they want."  The real experts won't
tell you, "Sell them my products!"  Your market may not
want my products.

It took me a while to understand that "market to product
match."  When I first built my soul food website at
http://Chitterlings.com I tried to sell them a variety of
Internet marketing products, and all kinds  of affiliate
products. They kept telling me that wasn't what they want.
When I finally listened, and wrote a cookbook, I created a
six-figure residual income stream!

It is possible that you're selling a product suitable
for your market, but packaging or presenting it all
wrong.  Do a little price testing (without reducing
your price too much).  Also test packaging the product
with other related, desirable products. In your copy, test
making different parts of that package your lead product.
That may make a big difference.

I titled this article, "You Really Should Be Upset."
That's because often the cause of your failing to make
any progress is simply that you've bought into the hype.
You've bought rights to unwanted products, or worthless
