When it comes to reducing the cost of energy we should
not overlook the little things. For a penny saved is truly
a penny earned.

For people who use an electric stove for cooking it is
possible to reduce the amount of electricity used.  Just
turn off the stovetop element a short time before the food
is fully cooked.

The heat that is already in the burner element and in the
cooking utensil will continue to cook your food.  For example,
you are frying an egg and turn it over to brown the top. At that
point you simply turn off the stove and the egg continues to cook.

Or you are boiling vegetables for about 20 minutes. At about
17 minutes turn off the stove and the vegetables continue to cook.

Try to think of other little ways (and some not so little) that
will work for you and then share those ideas with friends.
