What is TIVO? To me it sounds like a new kind of work out. No, that's Teabo. Ok, that idea was wrong. So is it a new kind of music? No, it is a whole new way to be entertained, to learn, to play, to explore the world, to watch all your favorite programming at any time in any place you choose. That's really is cool. Oh my, have I got enough room for all the equipment, and the money to pay for it. Let's go see what it is.

TIVO is television dvr, game system, all grown up. Oh yes computers too. The wiring, the components, Oh no. This is scary stuff. I just had a flash back. There was this huge box on the table in the corner. My dad turned a knob and the front of it lit up. A picture was fuzzy and moving. It was a TELEVSION SET. In 50 years there has been so much progress.

After searching for hours I have found out that one small box can record up to 350 hours of television. It can stop a live program and keep recording it for you to view later. One quote I found described it as " a sort of VCR on steroids that records TV shows onto a hard disk drive". If you want to find movies with your favorite star, or programming on the stars TIVO can do it. It can load movies onto your laptop in no time at all. To transfer television programs onto a laptop, a subscriber must install the no-cost TiVo Desktop software on the portable computer. You can find and record shows by title, actor, team or keyword. You can even pause or rewind live TV. You can even program it from any computer with an internet connection. You will never have to miss a program or movie again.

You can hook it to your home network and play MP3 files on your home audio system. It can display photographs on your giant-screen TV.

The technology is endless. It will be hooked to ipods, cell phones, and is growing so fast that there are new uses all the time.

Nielsen is even researching it in some areas. There are many books and ebooks about TIVO. Packages start as low as 49.99 and go on up. This is the hottest new development since the big box in the corner.
